Dear Clients of Diagnostic Services at the Atlantic Veterinary College:

We want you to know we are here for you during this very turbulent time. As we are an essential service, our laboratories are open to ensure your diagnostic needs are met.

We are all working together to ensure the spread of COVID-19 is reduced to an absolute minimum. Our laboratories are containment level 2 certified spaces with the CFIA, therefore all our staff are trained to handle infectious agents without contaminating the surrounding environment.

We would like to remind you of the importance of pre .Jer packaging procedures, to protect the sample but also the people that may handle the package. Please refer to our website at https://www.upei.ca/avc/diaa nostic-services/shi ppina-sam oles for instructions to package samples.

As we are part of the University of Prince Edward Island, we are operating with reduced staffing and our shipping and receiving department at UPEI is reduced to morning hours of 7:30am to noon.

Samples can also be dropped off at door 14 of the AVC building. We ask that you call ahead (902-566-0864 or 902-566-0860) to arrange for someone to meet you at the door, as it is always locked.

Thank you for your understanding and patience,
