Dermatophyte (ringworm) culture and identification includes a KOH wetmount, fungal culture, and identification using microscopic and macroscopic evaluation. Antimicrobial sensitivity testing is not performed on fungal isolates. If identification is not possible, identification by gene sequencing may be required (at an additional charge.)
