Live: pleural or peritoneal fluid (1mL), whole blood (1mL)
Dead: liver, kidney, lymph node, pleura, pericardium, meninges of brain and spinal cord

Container:

Pleural or peritoneal fluid – collect fluid in a red-top vacutainer
Whole blood – collect whole blood in a red-top vacutainer
Tissues – collect tissues in a sterile leak-proof container

Handling/ Storage:

Refrigerate specimen(s) prior to shipment. Ship specimen(s) in an insulated container with an ice pack
